Traditional Costumes

The contest. Classic outfits, modern touches, one winner per category.

Anyone can take part. All you need is to show up wearing your traditional outfit: from the most classic Lederhosen, with its worked leather details and horn buttons, to the Dirndl with colorful bows and modern touches that honor the essence. No prior registration needed, just the desire to be part of the tradition. Every stitch tells a story, every detail is a declaration of love for Bavaria.

The contest takes place on the first day, after the barrel opening, and this year it debuts at a new venue: Fira de Barcelona – Gran Via. A larger, more open space that lets every outfit shine with the spotlight and comfort it deserves. There are two individual categories: one for men and one for women. A panel of judges from the organization selects one winner per category, each awarded a VIP table for 8 people. But the real prize is something else: the crowd cheers and claps, cameras capture smiles, strangers toast together and participants walk through the tent feeling, for one day, like true Bavarians. Fun, tradition and belonging all in one moment. Because at Oktoberfest Barcelona, we all have an outfit that makes us feel at home.
